IQAC

Introduction

For continuous evaluation of institutional overall performance, assessment and to accredit the quality, up-gradation of institutions at national level, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore proposes a continuous monitoring system by inserting institute-level Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). This is post-accreditation quality sustenance measurement.

IQAC continuously observe enhancement of the quality of Institute at teaching, placement, extracurricular activity, research area involvement of faculties and students. Every year IQAC receives report of progress in the institute in every aspects. These reports are sent to the NAAC in the form of AQAR. The role of IQAC in the institute is to establish system of improvement and performance measurement.

To keep maintaining the quality of the institute the IQAC provide vital role in the overall development of the institute and to stand in the competing era of education. Furnished with Co-opt members, IQAC of the institute always provide latest and quality guidance to the institution.

Now a day UGC has set new role of IQAC by monitoring Performance Based Appraisal System for career advancement of faculties in the institute.

IQAC is a facilitative and participative voluntary cell formed by the institution under guideline of NAAC. The IQAC has strong interventionist strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance quality in the institute. Basic Functions of IQAC are as follows:

 

Objectives and Functional Basis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

  • National Action Plan Prepared by NAAC.
  • To enhance quality of teaching and continuous process of progression and improvement.
  • Efficient progressive performance of Academic, Administrative and financial tasks.
  • Affordability of academic programs for various sections of society.
  • Adoption of new and innovative courses, programs and activities to increase the potential of the society.
  • Optimization and Integration of modern methods of teaching and learning.
  • Adequacy in maintenance and proper allocation of support structure and services.
  • Networking to other Institutes in India and Abroad.
  • Improvement in services like Library, Computer centre, Estate, Student welfare, administration, examinations and planning.
  • To find limitations and strengths.
  • Ensuring the effective functioning of all the committees of the institute.
  • Right balance between health and growth of the Institute.
